Superannuation & TPD Claims
If you have you been permanently disabled either by illness or by injury and have a superannuation account with a superannuation provider in Australia. You may have an entitlement to make an insurance claim under your superannuation policy by claiming for total and permanent disablement (TPD). Many superannuation providers include a death and TPD insurance cover with every superannuation policy.
You may be entitled to make a claim for the insured amount in circumstances where illness or injury whether work related or not prevent you from working.
To be eligible, usually, your condition will need to fit into the criteria covered under your superannuation policy. Normally, if you cannot perform your pre-injury duties, you may be able to make a claim for this lump sum benefit, in addition to any ongoing benefits you are receiving. That is, even if you can perform other new work, sometimes you may still be eligible for a claim if you can no longer perform your pre-injury duties or other suitable work within your skill set.
TPD claims can be complex, confusing and difficult to pursue hence you will need the right legal team to prosecute your claim diligently.
